New Agreement Strengthens IUG Bonds with Fatih Sultan Mehmet University in Turkey

The Islamic University in Gaza (IUG) signed a collaboration agreement with Sultan Mehmet Fatih University in Turkey. This significant agreement aims to boost and advance academic and cultural cooperation between the two universities. This step represents a crucial step towards enhancing the international relations of the Islamic University of Gaza and expanding the prospects for collaboration with global educational institutions.

The memorandum of understanding seeks to strengthen student cooperation by encouraging student visits between the institutions, facilitating student exchange opportunities, organizing joint workshops and research seminars, and promoting student participation in summer school programs organized by both institutions. Furthermore, it aims to enhance academic collaboration through establishment of joint degree programs, researcher exchanges between the two universities, and the promotion of joint supervision, publications, and collaborative scientific research.

Professor Dr. Sofyan Taya, the President IUG, stated that, “This memorandum presents a splendid opportunity for the exchange of expertise and knowledge between the two universities. It will undoubtedly contribute to enhancing our academic and research capabilities.” He expressed his delight at this future collaboration, emphasizing the importance of building bridges of communication between universities and exchanging cultural and academic experiences.

It is worth noting that the signing of this agreement was one of the outcomes of a visit by Dr. Munir Najm, an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education at IUG and the head of the project committee at the faculty. The visit was coordinated with the university’s external relations department, with the aim of expanding the university’s international relations network and strengthening cooperation with prestigious educational institutions worldwide.
