Academic staff from faculty of Engineering Completes International mobility at UAB in Spain

Within the framework of international credit mobility projects funded by the EU Erasmus Plus Program, Dr. Moayed Almobaied, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Smart Systems, and Dean of Admissions and Registration at Islamic University of Gaza, concluded an international exchange period for teaching and training at Autonomous University of Barcelona, which is renowned for its research excellence and teaching quality. He was welcomed by Professor Ramon Arbos from the Department of Control Engineering and Automation, and Professor Gloria Camps from the International Relations at the host university.

During the visit, Dr. Almobaied delivered lectures on the topic of Robust Control, encompassing the introduction to robust control, stability analysis and modeling under uncertain factors, repetitive response within various limits of uncertainty, as well as the deployment of PID control unit designs and discussions on projects at the Islamic University of Gaza within the field, along with shared research discussions.

An agreement was reached with the hosting professor to publish forthcoming research in the field, and to engage in supervising Master’s theses at both institutions. This collaboration aims to enhance and increase the number of Islamic University of Gaza’s students studying at the Autonomous University of Barcelona as part of international mobility projects. A project concept paper has been prepared for a joint project that will be submitted in the upcoming Erasmus Plus program call.

Ms. Walaa Safi, Coordinator of International mobility Projects at the Islamic University of Gaza, stated that these international engagements seek to exchange research ideas, enabling researchers to participate in a high-quality research environment. This effort aims at enhancing international research collaboration and direct interaction with faculty members at the host university. Additionally, to learning about the latest developments in scientific research trends worldwide and exchanging innovative teaching practices. Furthermore, it promotes motivating non-mobile students at the Islamic University of Gaza to study abroad and engage in international mobilities opportunities for students, positively impacting the internationalization strategies of participating universities.
