Islamic University of Gaza wins a project funded by the Austrian APPEAR Program

The Islamic University of Gaza won funding from the Austrian APPEAR Program for a project called “Capacity Building for Sustainable Energy Use to Create Green Job Opportunities in the Gaza Strip, Palestine.” The Islamic University of Gaza is working on this project with the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU Vienna) in the domain of advanced academic partnerships.

The project aims to develop a professional diploma and new courses for the current master’s program offered by the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Islamic University. The academic master’s courses will be developed based on the courses developed during the bachelor’s degree within the academic partnerships domain. These courses will adopt the new educational direction based on technical knowledge derived from organized practical courses. It will also work to spread and promote a culture around renewable energy and other skills like innovation and entrepreneurship by holding numerous workshops and extra seminars.

The project activities are expected to start during the next academic year and extend for three years.
