IUG wins a research grant from Franco-Palestinian Al-Maqdisi Program

Dr. Faten Abu Shouqa, assistant professor in the Mathematics Department, Faculty of Science at the Islamic University of Gaza, obtained a grant from Al-Maqdisi Program, funded by the French Consulate in Jerusalem, for a joint project with a research team from Paul Spatter University in Toulouse, headed by Professor Stefano Evangelist.

The duration of the project extends for two years under the title “Clifford Boundary Conditions for the Treatment of Periodic Systems.”

Dr. Abu Shouqa indicated that the project includes holding workshops between the two universities, academic and research exchange, in addition to publishing several research papers. The project is also based on studying the conditions for the position and movement of the object within the open boundary conditions or within the periodic boundary conditions for crystalline solids using the Clifford Torres topology.

Dr. Abu Shouqa stated that the objective of the cooperation between the French and Palestinian teams is to provide a strong mathematical basis for this approach.

It should be noted that the research team from Palestine and France has published a research paper on the subject, and is expected to publish two more research papers within the activities of the new project.
