IUG wins international Credit Mobility project in partnership with five Portuguese universities

The Islamic University of Gaza has won a grant from the European Union’s Erasmus+ program for the JAMIES project for international academic exchange under the international exchange domain. The partnership consortium includes five of the most prestigious Portuguese universities: the University of Minho, the University of Algarve, the University of New Lisbon, the University of Nova Lisboa, the University of Porto, and the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD).

The project, whose implementation period will extend until 2025, supports the international academic exchange of students and administrative and academic staff from the Islamic University to the Portuguese partner universities, in addition to the exchange of staff from Portuguese universities to the Islamic University.

The activities of international exchange projects aim to improve academic performance, enhance learning opportunities, and increase self-empowerment and self-confidence. It also aims to promote job opportunities, optimize career development prospects, improve foreign language competencies, circulate awareness and understanding between cultures, and transfer and exchange experiences, cultures, and best practices.

As a result, it contributed to increasing the number of international exchange projects that the Islamic University won this year to five, distributed to different European universities in Italy, Turkey, and Portugal, which means providing several exchange opportunities for students and staff of the university.
