IUG hosts and participates in training workshop on strengthening national competence in conflict resolution and reconciliation research

Islamic University of Gaza hosted a delegation from the Arab American University and Hebron University in a training workshop held by the Policy & Conflict Resolution Studies Center (PCRSC) on the subject of conflict resolution and reconciliation. This was part of the activities of the project “Strengthening National Competence in Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation Research” funded by the European Union, which is implemented in partnership with each of Hebron University, Islamic University of Gaza, Frederic Schiller University, and the University of Granada.

The following from the Arab American University took part in the workshop: Dr. Rola Shahwan, Project Coordinator and Director of PCRSC; Prof. Ayman Youssef; Dr. Iyad Yaqoub; and Dr. Dalal Erekat.

The following from the Islamic University took part in the workshop: Prof. Salem Helles, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Prof.Walid Al-Mudallal, Project Coordinator at the university, Prof. Khalil Al-Namrouti, faculty member at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, and a group of academics.

The following from Hebron University took part in the workshop: Dr. Ahmed Ghayada, and Dr. Tamer Sarsour. While the following names participated via Zoom: Dr. Iyad Dajani, Dr. Luis Peña, and Dr. Diego Hidalgo, from Frederic Schiller University, in addition to a group of university professors, leaders from civil society, students, researchers, and representatives from research and academic centers and institutions.

 The training program, which lasted for two consecutive days, included a series of lectures within the Islamic University on the subjects of conflict over space, religion and conflict, and peace studies, delivered by Dr. Luis Peña, Dr. Diego Hidalgo, and Prof. Walid Al-Mudallal.
