Engineer Hammam Al-Nabahin, Director of Infrastructure Department for Information Technology, has completed a five-day international exchange period for training at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro-UTAD in Portugal, as part of the international exchange projects funded by the European Erasmus+ program.
This visit comes within the activities of JAMIES international exchange project, which is the product of a partnership between five Portuguese universities: the University of Minho, the University of Algarve, the University of New Lisbon, the University of Porto and UTAD University, with several universities in the Middle East in Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Tunisia, which allows international exchange between students and staff of partner universities for study, teaching or training.
Mr. Al-Nabahin was hosted in the Information Technology Department at UTAD, where he was introduced to the scope of the department and its sub departments, and the services they provide to employees and students, in addition to being introduced to the network structure in various university buildings, connection techniques between buildings and devices on the wireless network, and systems used to monitor and follow up the network performance.
During the visit, Mr. Al-Nabahin toured the university and the Data Center, where he had a comprehensive knowledge of the interior equipment, which included servers, monitoring systems, cooling systems, and alarm systems, besides working a full day in the department to monitor mechanism and systems of following up on various daily tasks, network performance, and notifications related to systems performance.
Islamic University of Gaza has participated in about 50 international exchange projects within Erasmus+ program, which provided about 170 international exchange opportunities for students and staff from various faculties and departments in the university in partnership with several European universities.
