Dr. Muhammad Al-Ashi, Associate Professor in Accounting Department, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Islamic University of Gaza (IUG), has completed an international exchange period for teaching at Sapienza University in Italy, funded by the Erasmus Plus program. Dr. Al-Ashi was hosted for five days in the Department of Economics and Management at Sapienza University, headed by Dr. Federica Riggi.
During the visit, sessions were held to discuss topics related to education mechanisms in business faculties, including the distribution of student to divisions, the teaching methods used, and student assessment measurements.

Furthermore, both tackled issues of academic content for accounting courses, whether at the bachelor’s or master’s level, and ways of cooperation in future research work to draw a comparison between developed and developing business environments, as well as techniques of developing systems to reduce financial report problems issued by listed companies.

This visit resulted in exchanging teaching experiences, updating topics and references, enhancing cooperation between the two universities in writing international project proposals in future partnership programs, collaborating in publishing papers, and taking part in supervising master’s theses.
It is worth noting that, under the international exchange project with Sapienza University, eight students from the Islamic University studied for one semester, and eight academicians participated in international exchange opportunities for teaching.
