Dr. Sadiq Abdel-Aal, Assistant Professor in Industrial Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering at Islamic University of Gaza, completed an international exchange period for teaching at the University of Minho in Portugal within the international exchange projects, funded by the European Erasmus Plus program, within the framework of UMOVE(ME) exchange project between the two universities.
Dr. Abdel-Al was hosted in Industrial Engineering and Production Department at the University of Minho headed by Professor Paulo Afonso.
During the visit, which lasted for five days from 6-13 June, Dr. Abdel-All participated in numerous workshops on several topics, including: operations management, creativity, entrepreneurship and freelancing, in addition to a visiting International Relations Office at the University of Minho to explore ways of cooperation in joint projects within the European Union programs.
Furthermore, Dr. Abdel-Al visited the project officer of Faculty of Engineering projects at the University of Minho, and agreed on submitting a joint project with the university and a number of Palestinian partners. This visit also resulted in an agreement to publish a joint research with Professor Paolo from the University of Minho and in cooperation with a professor from Birzeit University.
The Islamic University participated in about 50 international exchange projects within Erasmus Plus program, which provided about 170 international exchange opportunities for students and staff of the Islamic University from various faculties and departments, in partnership with several European universities.
