Many Gazans are delighted to see Ruqayya Demier from the Republic of Turkey who left her home country and came to Gaza to study a master’s degree in psychology at the Islamic University of Gaza. In fact, IUG staff and students are proud of having such a distinguished student among them.
Ruqayya’s speech reflected her strong faith and determination to live in Gaza despite her family’s worries about her well-being in a place traumatized by war and suffocating siege. Ruqayya expressed her delight and satisfaction in living in Gaza and studying at IUG and felt happy that wherever she went, people were very hospitable and friendly
Ruqayya said, ” I am proud of being one of IUG’s students”. She concluded her speech by thanking an IUG member who encouraged her to fulfill her dream of living in Gaza, and confirmed that that she feels comfortable living in Gaza, which is full of love and nice people.
