Prof. Adel Awadallah, IUG President, hosted Dr. Nedal Jayoci, the European Union Delegation Representative in Palestine, to discuss ERASMUS+ projects situation at IUG.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Nazmi Al-Masri, IUG Vice President for External Affairs, Prof. Majed Al-Farra, IUG Vice President for Administrative Affairs and Prof. Ahmed Mhaisen, IUG Vice President Assistant for External Affairs in addition to Eng. Amani Al-Maqadmah, IUG Academic Partnerships Coordinator, and Miss. Walaa Safi, IUG External Scholarships Coordinator.
Prof. A’wad Allah welcomed Dr. Jayoci and noted obstacles preventing IUG from participating at ERASMUS+ projects especially difficulty of travelling due to the siege imposed on Gaza Strip.
For his part, Dr. Jayoci praised IUG care of education development a Gaza Strip, and he said, “ IUG has an effective role at the European Union and ERASMUS+ projects.’’ He also noted that IUG projects applied for ERASMUS+ s highly qualitative.
Dr. Al-Masri and Dr.Jayoci discussed future projects IUG wants to apply for ERASMUS+. Dr. Al-Masri also talked about the difficulties facing ERASMUS+ projects at IUG.
In a workshop held by Dr. Jayoci at IUG, he talked about the projects that won ERASMUS+ finance in 2016. Moreover, he showed how to prepare for Kick off meeting and scholarship management. He also noted that The European Union Delegation Representative office is responsible for supervising the application of the projects financed by ERASMUS+ at the Palestinian Universities.
At the end of the workshop, Dr. Jayoci met the staff of the project won to be financed by ERASMUS+, which is entitled “Development of Economic and Administrative Research at the Palestinian Universities”.
The project Developments and outputs were discussed in addition to obstacles facing application of the project including crossing closure.
