Prof. Andreas Obrecht, Head of Appear Programme which is a programme of the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) visited IUG yesterday accompanied by Dr. Kristina Kiesel from Vienna University who is a partner to IUG in Energy Efficient Building Conference to be held on Tuesday October 25, 2016.
IUG Board of Trustees Chairman Dr. Nasr Muzeini and University President Dr. Adel Awadallah, who welcomed the Austrian delegation, commended the cooperation between APPEAR Programme and IUG and stressed on the need for further work to strengthen research and academic capacities through cooperation with Austrian Universities.
During the visit to IUG, both delegates will assess APPEAR’s projects IUG has won, namely the two projects on ‘empowering women and gender’ and ‘Developing Deaf Students’ Study Programmes at IUG’.
The delegation will also discuss issues related to energy efficient buildings and prospects for more cooperation and joint work between IUG and Vienna Tech University especially in the area of raising awareness of using energy efficiently in building and depending on alternative energies, especially solar energy.
