Islamic University of Gaza-IUG won the coordination of an international project entitled as ” Empowerment of Deaf Students in Gaza Strip-(EduDeaf)” Funded by the Austrian Partnership Programme in Higher Education & Research for Development (Appear) – Preparatory Funding Component- for which the submission deadline was the end of May 2016. The EduDeaf project has been submitted by expert team from Community Services and Continuing Education Deanship at IUG with Partnership with University of Vienna in Austria.
The project, which will extend over the next four months from October 2016 until January 2017, to develop a project proposal for academic partnership to enable the education and the engagement of deaf students in Palestinian society. The project activity includes a series of meetings with representatives of institutions and stakeholders inside Palestine to determine their needs in addition to the exchange of visits with the team from the University of Vienna in Austria.
It is worth mentioning that the Islamic University has also won this year’s project entitled “Strengthening Higher Education Capacities in Palestine for Gender Equalities.” Funded by Appear program .
Moreover, IUG has received funding within the academic partnership component of the Appear program for the project to Promotion of Energy-Efficient Buildings Towards Developing Sustainable Built Environment in the Gaza Strip, which extends from f March 2015 until April 2017.
